CPC began its journey as a multidisciplinary consultancy firm focussed on providing engineering solutions to the focussed sectors. The organisation with an in-house dedicated team overseeing engineering projects equipped with a strong knowledge base, has the capacity and capability to undertake basic as well as detailed engineering studies. The number of projects completed in this section is more than of Rs20.00 million till date.

CPC has pioneered "Bamboo carbonization technology" and "Activated Carbon" from bamboo in collaboration with TIFAC and IIT Mumbai for the first time in India. It has so far implemented projects all over North East, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Activated Carbon from bamboo has a very huge potential market and possesses very good adsorption property as compared to other charcoals like that from coconut shell.

In India, the environment related assignments are largely governed by the need of a party to show compliance to existing regulations and by others as to provide base information on diverse related subjects that are in a form of data collection, documentation or simply putting existing records in one place so as to aid stakeholders in policy or regulations framework. CPC has been involved in this field for the last 15 years, successfully completing a number of assignments for Ministry of Environment & Forests and Central Pollution Control Board. The organisation has also been engaged by big corporates for their projects in India. Also, the organisation has developed expertise and competence in workplace/ industrial Safety, Health and Environment jobs carrying out safety audits, risk assessment studies, etc. The total worth of surveys, studies done in this area is around Rs30.0 million till date.

The increasing need for a methodological assessment of disasters, both man-made & natural has been voiced all over the world. In India, the government and other stakeholders have been lately working in implementing necessary regulatory framework and social infrastructure for better preparedness in times of emergency. The element of Disaster Management which is now projected as a specialized subject and shows as a separate chapter in many documents was effectively covered in feasibility report, design and engineering documents from the beginning by our organisation as an added dimension. Hence, the organisation with its knowledgeable staff, who have formal education and training in disaster management is well equipped to carryout any documentation, providing technical knowledge and implementing basic structure for mitigating the same. The reports on safety audits, risk assessment, onsite & offsite emergency plan, environment impact assessment all carried a chapter on basics of disaster management.

CPC also undertakes action oriented studies and consultancy assignments in policy research and development planning. Project appraisal of social relevance in rural areas comes within our sphere of interest and as a concerned organisation, we have been engaged with different facets of agronomy, including initiatives and strategies for improvement in handicrafts technology (address credit needs of a wide spectrum of requirements revolving around hastashilpa as well), agribusiness, biotechnology and food processing. In addition, we have carried out various socio-economic surveys in rural areas concerning health and education.

The organisation is involved in providing technical support to private organisation on deputation basis for design and procurement services in chemical, petrochemical and allied industries. The scope of work generally included providing managerial support, liaison with suppliers, design investigation and inventory management. The total worth of surveys, studies done in this area is around Rs2.50 million till date.

The company has been involved in studies related to logistics and supply chain management for private parties. The scope of work included studying forward and backward linkages, value additions at various stages, demand & supply assessment, etc.

 The consultants have executed number of studies notable are the “Technology Status of Isabgol Industry in India” and “Techno-Commercial cum Business Opportunity Report on Bamboo based Activated Carbon which invariably involved good agriculture practice, cropping pattern, viable species for Indian climatic conditions, horticultural practices, agro-economics, land development, contract farming, project cost, among others. Similar projects such as market research, feasibility reports, project profiles on other agriculture/ forests products such as kattha, shellac, rice, sugarcane, raw materials for paper and pulp industry, palm oil, etc have also been executed by the consultants.

India is still a predominantly agricultural economy, and more than 3/4ths of people still reside in rural areas. With large human resource capabilities, it presents a huge arena for sustainable investments. CPC with its social arm “Shristi” has been actively involved in educating, creating employment opportunities through self help groups and striving for secured financial future for handicraft artisans through socio-technological & marketing inputs. CPC also supports youth movement like the Indian Youth Climate Network in spreading awareness about climate change and preserving biodiversity.

CPC, through its social and rural development arm, provide education & awareness to village people by means of organizing seminars, door to door campaigns, workshops, marketing support, etc. The main objective is imparting basic education and arranging for necessary technology support through existing government mechanisms, public private partnerships, for better product design and marketability.
